I don’t know how I feel about all the CGI in this movie.

People on TV Tropes were like, oh, it’s fitting because it makes the Angels look like they don’t quite fit into the world. And I’m like, yeah, but I feel like that would be more effective if this movie was made in an alternate universe where every single person viewing hadn’t already associated “obvious CGI” with “bad CGI” on a purely instinctual level.

I am also managing to be creeped out by the fact that I can identify CGI without being entirely certain which quality makes it identifiable. I mean, the Angels are just obvious, they’re too smooth/too fluid/they move wrong, but then there were sequences of the fortifications activating when they’ve clearly been skinned and cel-shaded to look as much like traditional animation as possible, but I can still tell. AND I DON’T KNOW WHY.

This can’t just be 6 AM making it creepy, right? That’s creepy. It’s gotta be creepy.
